I used to think the guy on the cover of Rain Dogs was Tom Waits.

I am not sure it was that strange of a mistake at the time. Lindsay is a much more popular girls name, particularly in the U.S. I also don't know if Stevie was common nickname for Stephanie. Maybe they called Ms. Nicks effy or stephie and as a girl, and she thought Stevie sounded cooler.

I don't think I knew until this year that Roy Harper is the vocalist on "Have a Cigar". I always assumed that was Roger.

When I was much younger I thought "Who Are You" was a Kiss song because of the way the background vocals reminded me of Kiss songs like "Calling Dr. Love", "Shock Me", and "Shout It Out Loud". To be fair, I definitely had Kiss on the brain at age 8.

I thought the song "I Love The Night Life" was the new single from Leo Sayer.

You had a lot of company. Same with “Lady Madonna”.

. . . Rod Stewart was covering a Robert Palmer song when he had a Top 10 hit with "Some Guys Have all the Luck" - had no idea it went back further

There is an interesting story. CSN was going to reshoot the album cover so it was CROSBY-STILLS -NASH instead of NASH-STILLS-CROSBY. However, that little building was knock down only like a couple of days later.

At one time I didn't know that the Dillon I heard people talking about and the Dylan I read about were the same guy.

When I first heard the song “Holiday” I thought Madonna was the name of the group. Even when I saw the album cover I assumed that was some model on the cover. It didn’t occur to me that Madonna was the name of the singer and she was on the album cover till I saw the video for “Borderline.”

I was scared by The Beatles because of my friends older sisters doing 'seances' and telling us some 'Paul is Dead' clues during some sleepovers.
We just were hoping to stay up late enough to watch 'Logan's Run'!

I can't believe I once thought that McCartney II was a really bad record.

Just don't think that and listen to it with an open mind. It's a grower!

I went several years thinking "Walk Away" by The James Gang was a Van Halen original when I saw VH play it in a club before they were signed.

It took me 20 years before I "got" the title Californication. Lol. And I don't even like RHCP.

As far as teen-pop goes, you could do a lot worse.

Hanson were and are very talented, and are still going strong today.

Back in 1984-85, when I was eight, I saw Tina Turner's "What's Love Got to Do With It?" video about 14 million times.

I thought she was a white woman...

Well, she did have yellow hair:
