Drug movies are usually always dark (and depressing):

    Requiem for a Dream
    Rush
    Traffic

It's more than I expected. Thanks. It looks like I am set for the rest of my life with dark movies.

See Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer. It fits the definition of dark.

Speaking of killers, 'The Iceman' comes to mind. Impressive actor.

I don't think I ever need to see Requiem for a Dream again. Wonderfully intense, but once is enough.

Dancer in the Dark is another movie that did that for me.

Glad to have watched them, but I can't bring myself to go back and see those again.

The Handmaiden is currently available on Amazon Prime. It's dark, sexy and a story well told with interesting plot twists. Recently saw it so had to speak up.

Your other two movies are great too.

I did the mastering on at least one version of Brazil, and I didn't make it too dark.

One of the darkest movies I ever worked on (in terms of lighting) was Matewan, much of which took place in a coal mine in the 1930s. Very, very dark, and DP Haskell Wexler gave me no leeway on the exposure he made to the negative. It was too dark, in my opinion.

Michael Mann's horror film The Keep was one where he hated the special effects showing the creature, so he deliberately had the lab time the shots down super-dark. Critics slammed the crap out of the film because "you couldn't see anything." The movie bombed, and for a variety of reasons, it's hard to find on home video.

Dancer in the Dark is the darkest musical I've ever seen. If you like musicals.
