I'm curious... had The Beatles released just these songs as a single album, where would this album rank in their discography?

    Side 1
    Yer Blues (4.00)
    Don't Pass Me By (3.50)
    Honey Pie (2.41)
    Martha My Dear (2.28)
    I'm So Tired (2.03)
    Julia (2.54)
    ---------------------------
    Total Time: 17.56

    Side 2
    Wild Honey Pie (.52)
    Piggies (2.04)
    Sexy Sadie (3.15)
    Long, Long, Long (306)
    Revolution 9 (8.22)
    Good Night (3.11)
    ---------------------------
    Total Time: 20.50

Incredibly cool song choice and great sequencing. This would be an album that would grow on people over time. It probably would have sold well in '68 but mainly because it was THEM. The thing about most of these songs is that they work best within "White Album-context". Very creative, though.

They're probably the standouts, but like someone said, it would still be a lesser album.

In my opinion, The BeaTles (White Album) is perfect as it is; including Revolution 9.

From another thread on this topic:

    My 14-track White Album:

    A

    1 Revolution (single version)
    2 Dear Prudence
    3 Martha My Dear
    4 Me & My Monkey
5 While My Guitar Gently Weeps
6 Happiness Is A Warm Gun
    7 I'm So Tired

    B

    8 Back In The USSR
    9 Yer Blues
    10 Mother Nature's Son
    11 Helter Skelter
    12 Long Long Long
    13 Cry Baby Cry
    14 Julia

    OR, alternately—across two albums:

The group releases one album on November 22nd, 1968, titled Revolution (also, the Yellow Submarine soundtrack was orchestral-only, freeing up several of those studio cuts).

    Beatles / Revolution:

    Side A

    1-Revolution (single)
    2 Dear Prudence
    3 Martha My Dear
4 The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill
    5 All Together Now
6 While My Guitar Gently Weeps
    7 Blackbird

    Side B

    8 Back In The USSR
    9 Glass Onion
    10 Mother Nature's Son
    11 Sexy Sadie
    12 Long Long Long
    13 I Will
    14 Hey Jude

Then on January 3rd, 1969, the band releases the decidedly darker, weirder, harder rocking and less-jaunty A Doll's House with the remaining material of this time, just as they're entering the soundstage rehearsals for Let It Be.

    Beatles / A Doll's House:

    Side A

    1 Me & My Monkey
    2 Yer Blues
    3 Not Guilty
4 Why Don't We Do It in the Road
5 Happiness Is A Warm Gun
    6 Julia

    Side B

    7 Sour Milk Sea
    8 Hey Bulldog
    9 I'm So Tired
    10 Piggies
    11 Helter Skelter
12 Cry Baby Cry / Can You Take Me Back
    13 Revolution 9
