Aretha Franklin- I want that singing voice
I'd like to have spent a month as Frank Sinatra when he was cool beyond cool.....
I'd like to live with a voice like Marvin Gaye, or Tom Jones, knowing that I could drive the ladies well beyond the point of no return
Mickey Hart. Not only a great percussionist and member of the Dead, but also a renowned ethnomusicologist.
Itzhak Perlman, with out a doubt.
Jazz bassist/Session player who's played with pretty much everyone Miles on down. Only downside is schlepping that bass around but front row seats to some amazing shows
Gram Parsons for the raw talent and Pete Seeger so I could live to be 94
A rich one that doesn't have a drug or drink problem. Also one that is a lot younger than me.
The legend himself, Charley Pride
That's a tough one but thinking about all the attributes in the OP list I'd have to go with Mark Knopfler. His songwriting, voice, and most of all guitar style are so unique and instantly recognizable. I respect him without really knowing him as a man. As an artist though, quite an amazing career. I'd love to know what it's like to play and sing Romeo and Juliet or Wild West End and be able to handle a Strat and National Style 0 with that touch.
Hate to be on the level of a 12-year-old here, but my first thought was I'd be Mariah circa 1992, so I could (you guessed it)...look at myself naked in the mirror!!! Yes, it's immature, but everything can't be analysis of Zoot Horn Rollo vs. Fripp.
I think i am with you on this one
At least you'd only be wearing slightly less than on your record covers. Not much to take off.
