DCC Archive Is some famous rock star going to buy DCC Compact Classics?

Heard from a fairly trusty source that some Rock Star is trying to buy DCC. Wow.

Can anyone else confirm or deny this?

It's Neil Young. He's going to drop by Steve's house and complain that digital sucks all day long. The first release is expected at about the same time as Neil's box set. (Christmas 2010)

Pete just emailed. Said Luke did push him over the edge, but he's not going to buy DCC just because he's here. Neil also emailed and said that complaining about digital night and day with Steve sounds like a lot of fun and that he's game.

 

Whoever it is I hope it's someone good, so we'll get a decent reissue catalog from them. I'll be disapointed if it's someone like Bryan Adams or Dennis DeYoung. I don't need to hear their music more clearly. Or maybe that's been the problem. It's got to be someone with lots of $: Keeping my fingers crossed for Bowie, McCartney, Elton, etc. I'll bet it's McCartney.

 

I heard, from a very unreliable source that it's Allen Klein. In an interveiw he stated that the "Stones" catalog would be first followed soon thereafter by the complete "Cameo Parkway".

 

Anyone of the previous mentioned artists would be an improvement over say Michael Jackson including Bryan Adams and Dennis DeYoung.

(P.S. I ordered the ELO set to hear for myself - it's my third _CD_ copy of their first album - I guess that means that I like it, right?)

 

I'm putting my money on Nigel Tufnel. I'm sure he feels that Tap's back catalogue has not gotten the attention it deserves from Polymer so he's decided it's about time the music be heard the way it was originally intended. I heard Shark Sandwich will have both the stereo & mono mixes as well.

Someone quoted on CNN's page regarding the Beatles:

Maybe it's C. C. Deville? That guy's about as much of a rock star as Rick Rockwell's a millionaire...
