My wife likes so many of these films, save the war ones. Saving Private Ryan gets a very nominal vote of approval from her, as well as Platoon.

Otherwise, she'll watch anything.

My son & his wife use to alternate picks of what they were going to rent on movie night. She was particularly annoyed with some Transformer type of action movie he rented on his night so she got, what she thought, revenge by renting True Romance on her night. That one backfired.

 

U-571. A great unsung war movie with McConaughey, Paxton, Keitel,...and Jon Bon-Jovi.

I was going to say Armageddon but not only does it have a love scene it has Ben Affleck in that love scene.
