Update Oct. 8, 2020 : Japan Post to Resume Shipping with Non-Registered Airmail to the U.S.

Japan Post announced that they will resume shipping with Non-Registered Airmail as well as printed matters up to 5kg by Airmail from Oct. 9, 2020.

Note that there still may be some delays due to COVID 19 related issues.

I had ordered a CD from a dealer back on May 10th and he very kindly agreed to hold it for me. Oddly, despite the above statement that it was resuming Oct. 8th, he was able to mail it to me Small Packet Air on Monday Oct. 5th and it arrived from Japan to California in only six days on Oct. 10th, exactly five months to the day that I placed the order.

I assume other dealers and sites like Amazon Japan will resume normal non-registered shipping as well.
