Maybe I mentioned I seen him filming Hummingbird (2011), but I also seen him close up with Kelly Brooke ( model ) circa 2000.
It had DeNiro & Clive Owen in it along with Statham, so I wanted to like it better than I did, but it just didn't impress me that much. I felt like all three were wasted in it.
I love the Brant books. I felt the movie didn't quite work as well as it could have but well worth seeing for Statham, plus Paddy Considine and a very memorable Aiden Gillen as Barry.
I have somehow only seen two of his movies, Snatch, which I hated, and The Meg, which I enjoyed way more than I thought I would. My friend and I used to joke that we hated Snatch...the movie. Anyway, a lot of people seem to like Snatch, so I should probably give it another view. I only saw it the one time in the theater, and my movie tastes have evolved since then.
I saw Lock, Stock... and Snatch when they were released in theatres and I loved both, still do for that matter. I'll confess having only seen about 25% of his films but his always been pretty solid in what I saw him in. The one role I thought allowed him to stretch out and actually play a non-action role was in the rubbish movie London. The film is horrendous but Jason played an impotent cocaine addict and I thought his portrayal was spot on.
Killer Elite ( based on a true story ) Thought Dominic Purcell was good in this ex special ops - yarn. Clive Owen says some nice things about JS, in the extras ( dvd ).
I can't even remember Snatch, only that I thought Lock Stock was much better, especially the Stathe's opening spiel. If you want more, I'd suggest checking out Lock Stock, Bank Job and Blitz. "Too late, too late" will be the cry, when the man with the Statham recommendations has passed you by...
