There was only one dedicated thread for this wonderful songwriter, and sadly it's locked. Any fans here to discuss her past work, and hopefully comment on her upcoming release? Here's a recent review, courtesy of The Quietus:

Jessica Pratt has shared details of her fourth studio album, Here In The Pitch.

Featuring nine tracks, the record makes use of timpani, glockenspiel, baritone saxophone and flute, and is said to feature "big panoramic sounds that make you think of the ocean and California" in Pratt's own words. To mark the album's announcement, she's shared a video for lead track 'Life Is'.

Describing the song as "a statement of intention", Pratt explained the lyrics thusly in a statement: "Life came and went and you didn't land where you thought you would. It's the third act and you're trying to climb back on the horse before it gets dark."

City Slang will release Here In The Pitch on May 3, 2024

Two songs teased out so far, both of which are serious earworms...

I listened to this album today and really dug it. I saw her live once, but never dug into her catalog. Definitely going to give repeat listens to the new one.

It's still an airy and concise album at 27 minutes, but it's a very interesting one as she continues to develop her sound in a spacier direction.

It’s really good! Is it only 27 minutes? Seems longer to me.

Yes, I ordered whatever the exclusive variant is from her website. It’s perfectly pressed, and sounds great.

    Such a beautiful sounding album.

Playing the new album, immediately followed by Quiet Signs, is a great way to swoon a little while longer in Jessica’s world,

This album is an absolute masterpiece. Her songwriting has reached an incredible level (and I say this as someone who has loved her work since her first album).
