Yep, for those who missed out!

    From the official page:

We’re excited to announce the 50th Anniversary Edition of Thick As A Brick, out on half-speed mastered vinyl in the incredible original newspaper packaging on 29th July.

And that’s not all, the coveted 40th Anniversary Special Collector’s Edition CD/DVD will be back in print on October 7th.

Outstanding! I missed out on the 2012 box waiting out the defect thing and never got it. Only box I'm missing though I did pick up the 2015 one disc of the Wilson remix.
This probably explains the delay of the Broadsword set now.

There is a Facebook video of Ian showing the vinyl edition. The official pre-order link is broken though, I'll post it when it's fixed.

    Good to hear.
I got it at the time, but so many releases these days are too limited, and sell out quickly to just become collector expensive.

I'm assuming no additional material on the box set so easy to give this a miss - but super chuffed for those who missed out can finally get a copy

Thanks. I'm not on FB and Google isn't bringing up anything except some foreign site with broken links.

As I've got the original corrected book and the later unmastered CD, the only possible reason for me to get this I think is the higher resolution unmastered stereo on the DVD. I think I'll wait and see if they make too many and sell them off cheap.

To celebrate Thick As A Brick's 50th anniversary, the album is now released in a special anniversary edition, bound in the iconic 12-page newsprint known from the original version. The vinyl is a Half Speed Master of Steven Wilson's 2012 remix. The 50th Anniversary Edition is available to pre-order today and will be released on July 29th. Also available from October 7th is the rare and coveted 40th Anniversary CD/DVD Collector's Edition, which has been out of print for nearly ten years and is also available for pre-order starting today.

Unless of course this really is just a straight re-issue with the Mew mastering still there.

Since this was really the first release in the now-standard book/CD/DVD format, I wonder if others will be reprinted when their 50th anniversaries arrive.

Hmm I already got the Wilson Remix on CD. On the other hand this is missing in bookform in my shelf. What to do...

PS: Stand up in bookform is also missing:cry:

This is why Broadsword is being pushed back:)

Oh I see, no new box but I want to have the vinyl of one of my favorite albums ever with newspaper in Tact? Where do I send my money?

I have to say, I always preferred my 1997 Remastered CD to the Steven Wilson version in this set, and whilst I hankered over a set and finally managed to buy one a number of years ago, I never play it.

Not sure if I had just played my 1997 version so often that I did not like the change

If this is the non remastered version, just Steven Wilson remixes (like the standalone CD or HDtracks), I'm in

If this is the original Peter Mew 40th anniversary remaster, I'm out

    This always hurt my head.

Am I right in thinking that the single "Steven Wilson 2012 Stereo Mix" CD that came out in 2015 is a different mix to the 2012 box set?

I’ve got the individual CD. But it’s the only bookset I’m missing. So reason will have to give way…
