The deluxe version of this is - discounting concert tickets - the best musical purchase I've ever made. All those folks I've seen say "now THIS is how you do a reissue" are absolutely utterly totally 100% spot-on.

Cue me up for EVERY other deluxe box in this series. Huge thanks to everyone involved.

What a great time to be a Jethro Tull fan.

Well, um, yeah.... When you get one that is not defective I agree.

The stereo remix is still horribly mastered on the "corrected" one.

The flat transfer is the one to listen to for this release.

Really? Are you just a bit excited about your purchase, or do you really think it smokes the MFSL gold disc?

I found the 5.1 was the revelation and so badly needed issue.

Outside of my living room the MFSL's what I play stereo-wise. The 5.1 is a fabulous thing as quicksrt notes.

The 5.1 imo turns the second half of the album into a side that equals the first half. It really make an improvement musically to an already great album.

I haven't compared the MFSL to the DVD-A but I thought the flat transfer was better than the new stereo mix.

You mean the corrected download of the remix or are you talking about the flat transfer of the original mix?

    Isn't it a DVD rather than a DVD-A?

    What difference does it make?

    I disagree

The stereo remix on both the CD and the DVD is unplayable because it's so loud/distorted - and it's still the same on the corrected DVD, which only fixed the 5.1 mix.

The only way to get the stereo remix as Steve Wilson intended is by buying the download but I don't want to pay again for something I have already bought and, in any case, I prefer physical media.

One is hi-rez and the other isn't, which is a major difference.

Standard DVDs can contain Hi-Res lossless stereo, but not lossless surround. That's the difference.

Really, 24/96 isn't hi- res? I was only speaking to stereo.
