Reality and movies/TV are mutually exclusive. Never the twain shall meet. At least John Wick films attempt to address the problem with action movies where every type of firearm has limitless ammo. I love how Keanu is constantly running out of bullets, resorting to hand-to-hand combat, and constant one-handed chamber check and reload. This is so stylistically cool to watch it has ruined me for other shoot-out films.
I meant the reality of what the film delivers Vs @GregM synopsis. I don't mind dumb fun but they forgot the 'fun' bit.
Yeah, I get it. Didn't mean to misrepresent your intention, just had to take the reality line and run with it.
That must be one of the most enjoyable parts of being an actor - being given the opportunity to develop skills. Like being taught how to dance for a musical, cook if you're playing a chef, or in this case, having to develop genuine skills with weapons.
As much as I enjoy the previous 3 Wick films, IMO it would be kind of cool if they just did a total U-turn and had him spend most of the movie doing something totally unexpected, like solving a mystery or retiring to the tropics somewhere to be a bartender, and turn it into a light comedy and let the audience get to know another side of him.
Wow, never thought I'd hear that! I think a pig just flew by my window. He used to be the living meme for bad acting.
I watched part one, that was bad enough. I'd say five headshot kills in the first couple minutes did did it for me.
#1) Seemed to have a point, a direction, a reason to showcase John Wick's reputation and the violence went hand in hand with those who earned Johns wrath. This one was good. I have watched it a few times. #2) Sort of had a point, but it seemed geared towards showing us more of the viloence and less story and reasons for said violence. This one was okay, and I have seen it a two times but don't really care one way or the other after my first viewing. #3) Feels like it exists to show fighting and gun deaths while paying little attention to much else beyond the fact that all semblence of "code" means little to many. This one is not good and I don't care to see it again after the initial viewing....No point in it other than its existence. If they can bring #4) around to what the first movie gave us I may find it good again, but if they just toss more gas on the fire....well, I have already seen a big fire.
Excuse me for intruding, but I would think that this movie might appeal to the same audience as Mr. Wick, since this movie comes from "the studio behind John Wick."
Currently at 89% (44 critic reviews to date) Rotten Tomatoes. Critics consensus: John Wick: Chapter 4 piles on more of everything -- and suggests that when it comes to a well-dressed Keanu Reeves dispatching his enemies in lethally balletic style, there can never be too much. Run time: 2 Hrs 49 min John Wick: Chapter 4
