    Brad,

    Are these the original recordings?

    Thanks!

Yes they are. Glenn Meadows did the mastering back in 1986 and I had the cassette of this remaster and he did a great job.

I will just bump this thread as if any of you Kenny Rogers fans do not have something by the First Edition, you have an opportunity to get essentially an expanded edition of a compilation of original recordings that Reprise issued on vinyl in 1971, MCA issued on CD in 1986. All the big hits from the First Edition era are on it and you are in for some classic country-rock goodness.

For those looking for the Reprise vinyl, original pressings are easily identified by the glossy cover and later pressings use a solid gray version of the cover. The original pressing of the Reprise vinyl is also excellent sounding. The tracks marked by an asterisk are the bonus tracks on the CD version.

I received this disc in the mail today. I can confirm that it is indeed a legit disc, still sealed in the original longbox. My copy has a drill hole, but I guess that's to be expected. It is clearly unplayed and still "new".

The disc was pressed in Japan, and housed in a smooth sided case. Amazing.

I'll give it a listen tomorrow. Thanks for the tip on this one, Brad.

I got mine today and it is a MCA made in Japan in smooth sided case also.
Thanks again to Brad for bringing this to our attention.

Enjoy some late 60s country (i.e. Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town, Reuben James), country-rock and with a touch of psychedelia (e.g. Just Dropped In, Something's Burning, Tell It All Brother), pop-country ballads (i.e. But You Know I Love You), etc. at it's best. BTW, I do have the Tell It All Brother album on Reprise vinyl. Once you enjoy the Greatest Hits CD, look for the Reprise vinyl of the original albums which none of them have been on CD.

I guess you thought that was funny.

Seriously, now, the seller had six copies remaining this morning, and I just bought two. So, four left! Thanks very much to Bradley for giving us the tip.
