Over the next few weeks, DGM will be making the complete sessions for In The Wake Of Poseidon and Lizard available for download during 2020. This is to satisfy recent changes to copyright laws which states that all recordings must be released within the fiftieth year of their recording in order to continue to enjoy copyright protection. The bundles are presented exactly as they appear on the original multitracks, engineered by Robin Thompson, with consecutive takes on each reel running seamlessly.

I can hardly get through Lizard but In the Wake is great, for me it’s better than the debut. Were the Groon sessions not available for the big boxed set? Seems like I may have some of this somewhere.

So, does it mean there will also come a super big Poseidon box set, too? I still struggle to save money for the 1969 sessions box set...

I think eventually they're going to do year by year. I'm pretty sure 'Red' will be there of course

I dont think so, The Sailor's tales boxset has covered that album + Lizard, Islands and the Infamous Earthbound.

Probably a physical release of these download sessions

They didn't tour in 1970, so I don't think there will be a BIG 1970 box. At least, not as big as the 1969 one

With all the complete sessions? (Sorry I don't know that box set's content.)

I doubt that these will be released as a physical box, but I'm all over the downloads!

Not for me. I just love that passage where Keith Tippett and chums go into full scale Britjazz freak out mode.

Think I can manage to buy the 1969 sessions box set actually.
New money is coming in a week and the box comes out early November, might be good timing for me.

Yes I preordered the "1969" box as well......excited about it despite the cost.

What they could do is this: take the complete sessions for In The Wake Of Poseidon and Lizard, add the complete sessions for Islands (which I just assume exist), throw in the ca. 15-20 (too lazy to count right now) concerts from 71 and 72 that weren't included on Sailors' Tales but are available from the DGM website, and call the whole thing "Sailors' Tales: Addendum".

So, I guess one doesn't necessarily have to purchase the expensive box set?

Another year, another Crimson overkill. You can bury yourself down in all those 1969-1970 tapes for several months from now.

For those who will inevitably say it's too much, I just prefer to look at it like `they're there if you want them'....if they were bootlegs people would be clamouring to get them.

The "expensive" box (pennies per hour of music) is stuffed with live shows and surround mixes...
