It's a Wierd relationship they have, i think there is some love there, but also a lot of hate at the same time, not unlike Jagger/Richards. They need each other, they both know that, and that's why they'll at least tolerate each other.
Indeed, I agree. I was lucky to meet Paul in ‘78 and catch the ‘79 Dynasty tour and even though I can’t go to shows now but listen to all the classic albums, I’m always glad to see they’re still kicking and keeping rock out there. I hope I’m that active at their ages. It would be nice if I was as rich at that age too but since that won’t happen I’ll keep my fingers crossed for being that active.
No thanks...... However it is great to see that relationships are starting to be mended.....although one could be cynical and say that Genes appearances with Ace and now Vinnie at his Vault appearances is a typical Gene business move.
KISS fans recently speculated that the band would soon embark on a farewell tour following the news that the legendary rock act was attempting to trademark the phrase "The End Of The Road." An application from KISS was filed on February 8 to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, which — should it be accepted — means that the band could use it in connection with "live performances by a musical band." As it stands now, no official farewell tour has been announced. Asked by journalist Michael Cavacini for the details on why this trademark was filed, KISSfrontman Paul Stanley said: "It's not the first trademark that's been filed. I thought it was a terrific name, and I was surprised nobody had used it before. I wanted to make sure that when we used it, and there will be a time that we do, I imagine — I wanted to be sure that we own it and it's ours. When we wanted to go out and do the 'Hottest Show On Earth' tour, Ringling Bros. came to us and said, 'You can't do that.' It set off a light and bell for me. We've always had slogans or sayings that are synonymous with us, and this was another. Everything does end, in one form or another. When it's my time, I want to go out in style, and I want to go out guns blazing. So, when I came up with this idea, I thought let's make sure we tie this up." KISS Frontman PAUL STANLEY Explains 'The End Of The Road' Trademark Application
This reads less like an actual explanation and more as Paul being tired of Gene taking credit for everything and Paul wanting to proactively give himself a pat on the back for an idea.
The same announcement is on their Facebook page, but to the left of the "red" thing seems to be a sliver of the Destroyer album cover. My guess... a new red vinyl Destroyer re-release, perhaps as a Record Store Day thing? (shrugs)
25 years ago was Voodoo Lounge. If the Stones did a "Farewell Tour" 25 years ago, no one told them. Or me.
