I watched Bright Star on Sunday, the film about John Keats and Fanny Brawne directed by Jane Campion (The Piano). Beautifully shot, it starts off a bit shaky but by the end I was completely emotionally invested. A lovely film.

I watched Days Of Heaven on BD last night. The cameos by insects are outstanding. The people aren't half bad neither. :laugh:Now, I've seen all 4 of Terrence Malick's films.

  4. Apollo 13 on blu ray, Johnny Guitar on region 2 dvd.

  5. "NIGHTMARE CASTLE" with Barbara Steele.

    Loved it!

One of the great voice over films of all-time.

"I was hopin' things would work out for her. She was a good friend of mine."

"You know how people are. You tell them something, they start talking."

Last night's fare was Bad Lieutenant Port Of Call New Orleans on BD. I really like it. So many aspects of it are so over the top that the film could of gone silly. Somehow, Nicolas Cage ties it all together with a slew of supporting cast...too vast to remember....then it ends neat, happy, and pretty as a Disney kiddie, blue plate special. Excrement is turned pure as spring water. ....or is it?

Just watched Sherlock Holmes on BR and was very, very pleasantly surprised.

Mostly that Guy Ritchie is still capable of making a good movie...

We watched Good Hair by Chris Rock last night. Pretty informative semi-doc about black hair and the companies that make plenty of $$$ catering to black women.

He was on about black hair products when he was on Bill Mahr's show some weeks back. He was goofin' on the subject...not as funny as the $5000 bullet but good...

...oh, yeah, I watched 200 Motels again on LD... it doesn't make quite as much sense without LDS. Keith Moon as a nun makes it all worthwhile...

I watched "Moon" after seeing it recommended by so many people in this thread. I thought it was very good. Amazing that it was made for a small fraction of the normal film budget, but didn't have a cheap feel to it at all. Nice.:righton:

New in Town w/ Renee Zellwegger and Harry Connick Jr

Simple little movie, yet quite funny.
I wasn't expecting much but was very pleasantly surprised.
