The next songs to go are "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" and "Because".

    Results so far:
Round 1: "Maggie Mae", "Dig It"
Round 2: "Her Majesty", "Maxwell's Silver Hammer"
    Round 3: "Octopus's Garden", "One After 909"
Round 4: "Dig a Pony", "For You Blue"
Round 5: "I Me Mine", "Old Brown Shoe"
Round 6: "The Long and Winding Road", "Oh! Darling"
Round 7: "Sun King", "The Ballad of John and Yoko"
Round 8: "I Want You (She's So Heavy)", "Because"

Question: What's your favourite drumming on a 1969 Beatles song?

Its unjust that Pam and Mustard made it this far, riding the coattails of Bathroom Window.

As three songs put together, personally I think it deserves to have made it this far. But if they were separate songs, they would have been long gone.

Has to be "The End", doesn't it? :)

  5. "Get Back" & "Mean Mr. Mustard/Polythene Pam/She Came In Through The Bathroom Window"-
... note*- of which "Polythene Pam" is the truly great gem & peak... I think of the medley as also including the great (and underrated) "Sun King" too

Also..."Because"?!?!? That's a potential finalist in my book!! An absolute peak on "Abbey Road"... truly sorry to see it gone so soon...

DQ?: "Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End"

honorable mention: "Come Together", "Something", "Here Comes The Sun" & "You Never Give Me Your Money".

"Because" is a thing of ethereal beauty, and George's favourite.

Hmmm...both of my choices went out last round so it makes it more difficult to vote. No easy choices any more.

I went with Come Together and the Mustard medley.

Actually Mean Mr Mustard was one of my favorite songs from the album when I first got it, and..

DQ: Come Together (spent a lot of time practicing the cymbal/hi-hat triplets way back when I was taking drum lessons).

Don't Let Me Down (for I think the 6th time)
I've Got A Feeling (like the mix of Paul & John, but overall just an average song)

    DQ: The End
I also enjoy Paul's work on "The Ballad Of John & Yoko".

"I've Got a Feeling" + "Let It Be"

Voting against "Get Back" and the "Mean Mr Mustard" medley.

The best drumming of the Beatles' entire catalog would be on "The End," in my opinion.

I really hope "Don't Let Me Down" doesn't get the boot this round!

Both "Mean Mr. Mustard..." and "Golden Slumbers..." Should've been a little more clear on that.

Looking like my equal favourite (with Because) Abbey Road track is almost a certainty to win. George also won 1968 - finishing the Beatles era on a high
