I bought the same item from two different sellers and got them mixed up.

I left positive feedback accidentally for the scam seller who cheated me.

Click the "Remove My Feedback" button on the order page right under the feedback you left.

OK I see that now. But then it says if I do I can’t leave any other feedback. I want to give him the appropriate feedback after removing the accidental feedback I gave him.

I don't think that's possible on Discogs, you could submit a support ticket to them but that's like shouting into the wind.

PM the seller about the accidental feedback then make another purchase from them at the first opportunity. Repeat business is the best way to make up for your error.

Except the seller in question I actually left positive feedback for by accident. This seller desperately needs negative feedback from me to reflect his pathetic way of business.

Honestly nothing you can do besides remove the feedback. It’s happened to me before, I left feedback before I listened to the record, and then when I listened to it there were multiple skips, but since I had already left positive feedback, there was nothing else I could do even after having to open a paypal dispute for them accusing me of sending back a different record and hassling me for weeks about it. Lesson learned, but yeah, Discogs doesn’t have that option unfortunately.

The only thing I ended up doing was reporting the seller. Doubt discogs really cared, but that particular transaction made me a lot less willing to work with sellers when I get something that’s missgraded. If they aren’t cordial and willing to let me send something back to them after a simple message, and they put the blame on me, straight to a paypal case it goes. Plenty of great sellers out there who occasionally make a mistake, but unfortunately with how popular records are now, lots of shady people looking to rip people off and make a profit doing so.

Thank you I can relate. I ordered an audiophile label pressing of an Lp, and he sent me a generic commonplace pressing. Never apologized, put the burden on me and forced me to pay for return postage.
Then I go ahead and accidentally leave him positive feedback and thank him!

PayPal might have printed you a free return label if you tried.

Not necessarily. I've read of support tickets taking awhile to be dealt with, but I don't think this is something Discogs would just flat-out dismiss. I would think this is exactly the type of unusual circumstance which warrants intervention from them.

Also @yesstiles, I believe @Ken Dryden's suggestion about ordering something else referred to the seller you meant to leave the positive feedback for. That way, you'd get your chance to leave positive feedback (albeit for only one transaction, but still) AND reward him for his prior good service.

I was able to catch my mistake before I left feedback for the good seller. The problem is that I left positive feedback for the scam artist seller.

Oh, yes, I see now by re-reading your original post that you didn't accidentally give the wrong feedback to both sellers. Why that point escaped me, I don't know, but escape me it did.

By placing a support request, Discogs might erase that positive feedback so you can leave the deserved negative feedback which you intended. That's assuming they have the technical capablity to do so, though I can't imagine that they don't.

Never heard of that on DiscoGS...

As someone already wrote, you can only remove the wrong feedback

That's why I wrote 'might'. They may be willing to do it under the right circumstances. There's no telling what any company's support department is able or willing to do even if we would never expect it from them. One has nothing to lose by asking.

And in OP's case, it's moot anyway since he clarified that he had left positive feedback for the correct seller. His main concern was having left positive feedback for the wrong seller also.

I heard back from support. They told me they will not allow feedback to be changed.
