I like it except for the tag at the bottom, "By The Beatles" at best it looks like a mistake.
From the press release:
"Presenting transcribed conversations drawn from over 120 recorded hours of the band’s studio sessions with hundreds of previously unpublished images, including photos by Ethan A. Russell and Linda McCartney, [...]
THE BEATLES: GET BACK will be a special and essential companion to director Peter Jackson’s “THE BEATLES: GET BACK” feature documentary film, set for theatrical release on August 27, 2021."
Yes it´s a mistake...the real book has the tag..." By Yoko Ono and The Beatles"
I pre-ordered back in February))) £42.44 with postage.
One thing is sure: there won’t be any reprinting of the old 1970 book, as in the new one there seems to be plenty of pics coming from the old one. Same with the dialogue.
This new GET BACK book seems to be an expanded and “remastered” version of the previous one
Here's the trailet for "Let It Be, Get Back Book". You can pre-order now and yhe release date is August 2021. Is that the show release of "Let It Be"movie coincidentally with the book release?
From the Guardian, The Beatles announce Get Back, first official book in 20 years
I would double-check you ordered this same book. There's no way it was available for pre-order until today. Can you supply a link of the book you ordered in February?
£33.96 including postage....beat that!!
Yeah i wondered about that but my order from February now shows the 'rainbow' cover as detailed in the press release....
Can you provide a link?
I just thought of this, they are distinguishing the book from the movie.
Maybe the movie posters and DVD sleeves will be tagged with 'By Peter Jackson'.
Oddly, amazon.com doesn't have it in stock.
Amazon.co.uk does, too.
here is the link for Amazon US. I have a pre order from way back at $41
It's about $10 cheaper on the UK Amazon as it is on the Canadian Amazon right now, but the price may come down between now and August 31, 2021. I pre-ordered it from Amazon Canada anyway. We'll see what happens.
Same here. I pre-ordered for $49.99 in June, when the listing had minimal detail, and it now shows the colorful Twickenham image. (BTW - fwiw - not a big fan of that lighting / color scheme.)
I also pre-ordered this back on March 5
$37.40 before Tax.
Also ordered this book on July 9
Book - £33.96
Postage & Packing in Russia - £8.48
Well, we all have ordered it. Shall we go on?
Luckily pre-ordered on January the 6th for 30 euros on Amazon DE. Link is the same as it matches my January order.
Now did any crazy fools, like me, watch the video in slow motion ? I even did some screenshots.
Among other thing, some nice excerpts of a dialogue between George Martin and Glyn Jones about two songs Martin calls The Long Long Road and Mother Mary. Also some allusions to George's... exit (as Mal Evans put it).
I wonder if the movie will be built the same way with those three successive acts (Twickenham, Apple Studios, Apple Rooftop).
So, there will be if I’m correct:
- a LET IT BE box set (with the LIB movie as a bonus)
- other LET IT BE audio configurations
- a GET BACK movie (on big screen and homevideo)
- a GET BACK book
- a GET BACK possible soundtrack
I received my email saying Spizer’s book is shipping today. Something to look forward to in 2020 instead of having to wait until 2021.
Unless I'm misremembering, I thought it was implied by our insiders that the LiB movie would not be part of any box set. Of course it makes sense to include it, but if Apple does indeed stick to their guns of releasing it after the Jackson doc, and we can assume any LiB box set would all be released to coincide with said doc, then it would probably be released after all that.
Again, probably misread. But if they aren't going to release it early or as a standalone then it should totally be included in the box.
So a music box set will definitely be happening this year?
