My understanding is Maggie Thatcher was a decent pianist, though probably not on a concert-performing level as Helmut Schmidt. The two could have done a piano duet, an opportunity missed ...
It was a nightmare. Radio Shack in the early days as a small chain remaindered the 1/2 track tapes. A friend of mine, who is moderator of the Yahoo Group reeltoreel, had interesting commentary about this. He bought quite a few of them, as he and his parents had an Ampex A-122 in nice wood cabinet, complete with speaker amps.
I have the exact same version of the album below. It has the same matrix codes as the original 1961 pressing, according to Discogs, that is ZTT-571-1D / ZTT-572-2D, but it differs from the original by very slight details on the back cover and labels. Since the sound and pressing quality are stunning, I'm really curious as to what its vintage is. Anyone knows?

Olivia Newton-John • Don't Stop Believin' (1976) Both songs were very popular around the same time and played in many NY FM stations ... Very fond memories indeed.
Anybody know where I can find a surround version of Les Preludes by Liszt. DVD-audio or SACD. I can't believe I have had so much trouble finding this.
This seems to be an interesting recording. The orchestra has been making recordings with bigger labels in recent years ...
Here is an interesting new box for romantic works ... Unfortunately, it is not even easy to determine how many duplicates I will have since many of them may be included in the various big boxes I already have ...

Disque cinq. Mussorgsky: A Night on a Bare Mountain Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade All with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Stravinsky: Le Chant du rossignol -with Philharmonia Orchestra An all russian program that's a delight to listen to, the Rimsky is slightly slower in the first and third movements than most sounding quite modern for a mid sixties recording.
While this one is off topic on this thread, I happen to like this one a lot. A rare bird. Seen 45 singles from this in the wild, own a few of them. But never seen this LP in the wild, even in beat up condition. And in Eastern Tennessee (where Sun and related material used to be pretty findable)
