try Ralph Sharon. To me it sounds as if you'd enjoy pianists, whether solo or in trio, playing the standards by such composers as Gershwin, Porter, Berlin, etc. Look for some of those
Thanks for the info about the thread, I missed that one. I only have a few Savoys, I think all red labels - they are all the newer UHQCD releases - Detroit Jazzmen, Introducing Lee Morgan, Charlie Parker Savoy years...
Earlier today, I posted a YouTube link to a Ron Carter album with Kenny Barron on piano and Lewis Nash on drums. Seriously, I listened to that 3 times today. I'm a big fan of Kenny Barron. He's a versatile player who has covered a wide range of music, but he's not a wild, difficult artist. Just very solid and generally has a relaxing, refreshing effect on me. Look up Charlie Haden & Kenny Barron/ Night and the City, and the Kenny Barron Trio/ Live at Bradley's.
Disc 1, the "In The World" lp. Which has recently been reissued on vinyl, in Japan, as part of the Dolphy Series. I very much want a copy, even though this Mosaic collection is fantastic sounding.
I've been revisiting "chants", an excellent 2013 trio album from Craig Taborn. The music runs the gamut from knotty, angular lines all the way to floating billowy soundscapes. There's something for everyone with virtuosic drumming and bass(ing) from Gerald Cleaver and Thomas Morgan respectively. Ideas emerge out of sonic mist and then often return there. Yet when Taborn's jagged melodies take form, everyone is locked together, telepathy style. Highest recommendation
Arrived today and now playing Lou Donaldson - Midnight Creeper I saw this on Youtube and as I heard the organ I just coudn't refuse my urge to buy this CD.
That is really a good one. Because of my many vinyls I had to skip it [too much duplicates] - You cant have everything and time for listening is limited on this earth
While listening to "Midnight creeper" that I mentioned before, I sat and thought that I have no more CD's on order. Well, maybe finally I'll take a break from buying music. Yeah, right... Just made two purchases on Discogs.

I’ve been playing George Benson’s Serbian Blue on youtube frequently. It is a track from Bad Benson that only appears on the cd, not the LP. Kenny Barron has a really long solo that is the highpoint of the song for me.
