Did someone post this recently? Unfortunately there is no information about which tracks the bassists & guitarists play on. Producer: Dave Hubert. Engineer: John Hall. Recorded in Los Angeles & issued in 1958. There is also an edition with a different (and better) cover.

I'm not a big Metheny fan, but Bright Size Life is one of my favorite jazz albums. I do love is debut a lot, Bright Size Life is like nothing else.

Will play it after my morning coffee

In the mood for this one.

Listening to A Lotus on Irish Streams... such a beautiful song... i've always wondered, on Jan Hammer's piano solo, is there another piano overdubbed (i.e. there's actually two pianos being played)? Does anyone know? As i say i've always wondered, it kind of sounds like it to me but i'm not 100% sure, it would be great to know once and for all.

  10. Additional Info:
This LP above was reissued under a different title [ which appears on the original on the rear side] & different Cat# Bethlehem BCP-6032 with different front- and rear side layout and pictures in 1977. Thats why I bought also this one .
For the artists see the attached cover

Mark Murphy had the value of great expressiveness.
A song was not ever the same sung by him.

Very nice! I love Stenson’s work with Garbarek, Tomasz Stanko, and Charles Lloyd.

This is the '73 pressing with the lame alternate cover. But it sounds really good...

One of my favorites from The Duke. :righton: I really think the best period for Ellington (especially from an audio standpoint) was from the early 50s up until his passing.

That is a long period! It used to be where I lived in Ellngtonia but I came to really love the first few decades, and then grew to appreciate the final decade, and if the '47 to '52 Columbia label material were more available I bet many would really grow to like that. I think the truth of the matter for me now is. . . I love it all.

Bobo Stenson's 75th Birthday was earlier this month (August 4th) I love the work above and his beautiful trio work that includes compositions of Ornette and Don Cherry.
