Due to a longer pile in my new carpet my rather short spkr spikes do not penetrate to the wooden floorboards as much as i would like .
Looking for reccomendations on my best way forward .
Should i simply get longer spikes or go for some kind of base to place my speakers on?.
    I have Monitor Audio silver 200 7g speakers .

For $150, you could get two of these.
15 x15 inches. Larger size available too.

If I were happy with the speakers spiked to the floor through the carpet, I'd get longer spikes and carry on.

I bought a coupleof 3.5 cm thick birch chopping boards and placed my speakers on them with spikes into spike cups .
    Fantastic result :agree:
Cleaner bass and tighter sound all around .:goodie: Happy days!

I tried some paving slabs and they gave the same improvement as the wood blocks , but were not a good look in my lounge .
Very happy with my set up now so am going to stick with it :)

Go to a local hom improvement store and get however many concrete edging pillars you think you might need. $2.79 each at Home Depot here. [IMG]

Fair enough... Nothing wrong with settling for lesser isolation. And paying More for it.;)

I built these for peanuts, I prefer not to couple directly to the floor.
