Thanks for the heads up! I had no idea that this exsisted. One more item to place on the Amazon/Dear Santa wish list. I'm still waiting for them to swing back through Atlanta. These guys are a national treasure.

Nice set list! I saw them last summer in Raleigh, NC. They rock. They entertained the crowd with a diversity of music. There is nothing like having a band with two equally talented lead guitar players and song writers. Gotta get this one!

I'm ordering one today - thanks for the reminder.

And although I'm sure y'all know this already, the cover art was cleverly adapted from the late Rick Griffin's famous Hendrix Fillmore poster, aka "BG-105." Here's my framed copy, hanging in my living room.

Sorry, I can't resist showing off my Fillmore collection! ;)

    Run, get this right away!

Ok this one's going down as one the best concert DVDs I own. Great PCM sound in addition to the usual 5.1 Dolby Digital encoding, great 3 man guitar lineup, nice selection of material and a 2 drum tandem, what more could one ask. This has been worth the wait!

Discreet 5.1, I hope? Been waiting for reviews on this one...:)

I just checked for this on CD Universe and the only thing close is a Live At the Fillmore DVD which is uncredited (no artist listed). It is on Mammoth Records so can I assume this is the Los Lobos? Release date was November 9th.

That"s the one .I emailed them before ordering to make sure-they should have updated the listing but cd universe just loves to do this!

  12. Is this the same show playing as a FreeVIEW this month on DirecTV???? Normally, any FreeVIEW show is a newly released DVD.

I caught parts of it this weekend, and while I am not at all versed in Los Lobos, the parts I watched were great. And as a bonus, it appears that they were playing the show 16x9. Normally, they just do 4x3 letterboxed, but on my WS TV, watching in 4x3 made everyone look tall and thin....going to full mode made it look right. I had never seen them do a FreeVIEW that way, but I am glad they did.

Yes, I saw this on the DTV Freeview the other day.

My girlfriend's mono TV didn't do the sound any favors, but the music compelled us to stay, watch, and listen.

  17. OT.....sort of...

Los Lobos is doing a New Years Eve party/show at an Indian Casino here. $75 a head, $140 a couple. I am not a big enough fan to spring for it, but I bet it will be a lot cooler than the typical cover bands that do New Years shows.

Just saw the freeview on DirecTV. As BGL accurately noted DirecTV freeviews are usually portions of newly released DVDs.
I thought the show was amazing. I haven't seen these guys in about ten years which is a bloody shame because I firmly believe they are one of the best bands in the world. This is not something I say or take lightly. IMO they write great material, sing wonderfully, are very versitile instrumentally and put on a killer show.

    Run to see this show!
    :agree:
And if you don't have DirecTV or a DVD player, c'mon over!
    :agree: :agree:

    Peace-

 So true, Norm. I try to see them whenever they play their home town here in L.A. This is a band that put out their first major album over 25 years ago and you just know that, God willing, they'll be around for another 25 years.
