LP / CD artwork pictures that speak volumes

Whenever I see the back cover of CCR's "Pendulum" I'm sure it shows what would happen soon after the album's release.



I think you know lots of album artwork examples that also speak volumes in one way or another.

 

Oh, I thought this might become interesting. One more try.

 

Marky Ramones -- seated away from the group in the window to the left -- would leave The Ramones shortly after this was released. When I interviewed them, I asked if this was a deliberate message: "No. We just all took our places and he went inside and sat by the window."

 

I may just be reading into this, and I don't think the band "intended" any meaning by it, but the cover for The Long Run adequatedly captures the tired and disgruntled state the band was in - void of any more color or combined creativity, and a sort of emptiness conveyed by the uninspiring "empty black" (although I'm not saying the cover is bad, quite the opposite - it's fitting)...

 

The third and final Nazz LP features a negative photo image of the band from early on. It's almost as if they're trying to say the band is a shadow of its former self or the group was in a negative space. In fact, the group didn't exist anymore and the LP is an odds-and-ends collection (albeit a really great one).

 

Isn't it John that should be standing apart from the rest of the band?

 

More of a bizarre coincidence than anything speaking volumes, but three days after its release...

Lynyrd Skynyrd was in a plane crash that killed several members of the band, including guitarist Steve Gaines, who is the one in the middle in the red shirt engulfed by flames.

 

Another fine example :

 

You can totally see the exhaustion, stress, and uncertainty in the Monkees' faces on the back covers of their 1969 LPs. Even when they're smiling, they don't look very happy.

I don't get this one

 

Exhausted from endless touring and recording scedules they look somewhat tired, not to say apathetic.

 

Looks like he's been decapitated.
