There is an upcoming "docu-drama" about Madonna's early years called "Madonna And The Breakfast Club".

    Here's the trailer:

This isn't really something I'd want to see (I'd much rather just see a straightforward documentary with actual archival footage and photos and talking head interviews) but I thought some of you would be interested.

...Bluntly, a straight documentary might get more CRED, but a " docu-drama " might get more BREAD:D!! I Guess this is a combination of " dramatized moments " - like the " reenactments " that most docs have nowadays anyway ' w/original footage? It seems to say it's getting a theatrical release (though doubtless?? limited) which would be nice - it would seem to be a natural for at least some San Francisco dates.

    Madonna couldn't so it's not a factor. :D

All kidding aside, if the actress lipsynchs, it's irrelevant anyway. :)

  9. A docudrama would be less likely to face a lawsuit and would require little to no cooperation.

...So it's legally easier to dramatize someone's life and release it as a movie than to make a documentary - using presumably rights-cleared footage - and release it?
Is it the question of getting clearances to footage, etc. for a releases film?

  11. Just a guess but they could argue that it is a fictional portrayal of her life thereby skirting the issue.
