Fags AND booze then? The statement from his sisters is very touching.

Consuming alcohol actually reduces the risk of having cancer of the kidney.

Who knew that Donny O reviewed MES? Not I...haven't watched it yet, I'm about to...

Found this signed first edition hardback of Renegade today, in a Manchester charity shop, for £3.49. I think the staff must have put it out on the shelf without checking inside.

I know a couple of very big Fall fans — people who knew MES personally — both of whom agree that the signature is legit.

I always though Big New Prinz was one of The Fall's more accessible songs too. I think Donny would have a meltdown if he had to listen to Spectre Vs Rector all the way through!

I'd like to set him up with "Papal Visit".

A shame; there's not much Kevin Bacon between them either, since Hanley got the bass line for "Quartet of Doc Shanley" from "Crazy Horses"...

I've been off the Fall for a hot minute but I do wonder what is going to happen to the catalog now that MES is gone. One would think an absolute avalanche of exploitative releases would have hit the market already but unless I'm mistaken, all I've seen are a few really well-done Beggars reissues on LP (the orange Kurious Oranj, the white 458489 A Sides, and finally Bend Sinister), the official Levitate reissue by Cherry Red, and just barely now the same series of early albums that Superior Viaduct put out in 2016 coming out again on Cherry Red as well.

I guess this is more of what I was expecting:

I think you are mistaken as there were about 10 Fall releases on RSD, most were dodgy live albums.

Cherry Red put out IWS on RSD, there was also a pile of ****ty live recordings put out on, I think, Voiceprint or one of its equally dodgy subsidiaries. The bonus disc of The Unutterable cd deluxe also came out on vinyl on RSD, again I suspect not an official release.

Cherry Red also reissued Witch Trials (the US version) and Dragnet, both on coloured vinyl, a few weeks ago, together with 3cd sets.

At least the Cherry Red stuff is official.
