So would you say McCartney, Ram and Wild Life have the limiting on cd?

No, it definitely refers to dynamic range limiting. In fact, the high-res downloads were offered in limited and unlimited versions, which was a very unusual choice (but one I wish the labels would make more often).

As I wrote before, I don't actually have the CDs, only the Hi-Res downloads which are "unlimited".
However looking at the DR database it would seem the McCartney and Ram CDs have limiting,

Hi, what is a Japan Black Triangle ? Can you post a link ? Thanks.

It's an old Japan face art design. I didn't think Ram and Red Rose carried this design.
These mastering's carried over to the later Japan Supermasters editions as well-At least for Broad Street and Pipes they did. Both carry pre-emphasis, both excellent sounding discs.

The original EMI/Fames sound the best to me, excepting the original 24/96 download of McCartney and Ram. The black triangle of Wings Greatest had the treble boosted to a ridiculous level.

Possibility it has pre-emphasis. Some of these early McCartney discs did.
For the two titles above I posted about the flag was located in the SUBQ channel, meaning standard EAC and dBpoweramp won't detect it.

I was going to collect on an old debt but although it’s no black triangle I am fine with this one

I'm a very casual Paul fan Steve, so If I ever run into anything (when the shops open back up) old and cool by him I'll be sure to contact you! :)

I know, but some of my unofficial Cds sound great.

Long ago, those Quadrasonics Cds were sold in records shops in France. I wonder if they sound as good as "real" 24K gold discs.

I guess it's fine as long as it's strictly a discussion of how they sound - and not advocating purchasing or anything.

The Forum has a pretty strong "official only" policy.

    Cheers,

Is the 2017 remaster of Flowers In The Dirt the best version around?

After comparison I think the original CD is still better.

Are all the original CDs the same?

I would think so. Mine is the 1989 UK&EU version. It is a bit more dynamic and has more snap than the 2017 remaster. Tonality-wise it is a bit thinner, but the bass has more impact; it seems more "period-accurate" than the remaster.

When you write “the most recent remaster” of Band on the Run, is that the 2010 Archive Collection version? Is this the same mastering as the 25th anniversary?
