McCartney III Slidin official video

Paul McCartney just released the videoclip of the song Slidin.

 

Absolute masterpiece. I don't care what anyone says. Best song he's written in years. Proper heavy track, gigantic guitar riff, sprinkling of psychedelia...small nod to his LSD days? I don't know what effect he put on the vocals but sounds GREAT. Definitely in my top 10 Macca songs.

Have to say the footage at 2:47 fits perfectly with the music.

 

I don't care what anyone says, for me, it's not good, one of the absolute worse songs he's written in years! Sounds like Nod Your Head just slower.

The childish hype and screaming like a bunch of whiney teenagers on the Steve Hoffman Forum, which happens every time McCartney release a new album, is off-putting. This song included.

I’m a fan, but it’s pretty dreadful. If the song wasn’t by McCartney, it certainly wouldn’t get its own thread, that’s for sure.

Yeah, I would like to hear more riff based, big, heavy guitar songs from Macca like Slidin’
He obviously has it in him.
And they are starting to crop up more on Mc3 and Egypt Station.
I like the way the guitar is becoming more prominent again in his music.
And, I think this video is pretty cool too. Nice use of visuals to this song, which I think, was written for something like this.

 

The video makes the song, otherwise one probably wouldn’t notice it.

Haven't heard but a couple of the 'McCartney III ' songs and this wasn't one of them but , maccafan , knowing you as I do I'm betting I will like it.
I'll give a proper listen to it later.

I absolutely love this song -- it's one of my favorites from McCartney III.

My son living in San Diego (surfer) , loves it! I sent video to him a month ago....

On another note.., great cinematography (By a great surfing photographer, inventor, artist that was obviously inspired by the track).

I like it…it sounds like a hybrid of grunge and heavy metal. It reminds me of his “ nothing too much just out of sight” from electric arguments era.

 

I thought of this old Macca video, but under water …a different style song but I truly love it. I prefer the love ska type late wing’s version, Kampuchea era? of hot as sun/glasses.
