I emailed Cherry Red and asked so hopefully they'll get back to me soon.

The signed postcard is already gone from the cd/dvd page, but oddly still available with vinyl.

I think there are 200 autographed cards, split between the CD and LP versions.
Im guessing more than 100 CD versions were pre-ordered, but the LP version must be lagging behind.
I have an original vinyl copy, so I went with the CD version this time.
    I didn't go for both.
Love the Maccas, but they have enough of my money!

  4. Ordered the CD/DVD set and the vinyl LP. The vinyl has the signed card.

I've order a lot via Cherrey Red. Mostly Procol Harum and everything has arrived perfectly.

It was not my intention to diss it in any way, but I am trying to limit the repurchasing of material I already own, unless there is something truly essential added.

The CD/DVD had the signed card, too.

  7. Not any more. That version with it sold out (someone posted this fact earlier here) . The LP version still has it.

    I agree. No Paul involvement.

Do Nothing All Day (unknown)/A to Z (McGear) was a single produced by Pete Winfield (1976)

All The Whales In The Ocean (McGear)/I Just Want What You Got - Money (McGear) was a single produced by Billy Kinsley and Mike McGear

Paddy Pipes probably something related to Paddy Moloney (He played Pipe [Aeolian Pipes] on the album) . I am not expecting a song and probably just a jam.

It could just be the mastering, but the See For Miles version sounds "rougher." It's basically the same mix, and definitely the same panning of instruments. Could just be that they went back to the raw track and didn't apply the same EQ (and clearly not the intended fade!)

If the "rough first mix" of Dance The Do is something other than the Rykodisc, then we'd have two rough versions!

As often, the most obscure songs are those we end up with the most different versions/mixes/variations of ("A Love For You", anyone?)

I'm sorry to be slow about these things.
Other than the bonus track, this is the first I've heard of any differences between the Ryko and the See For Miles.
Could some kind soul sum up the differences for us, whether known or suspected?

The backing vocals are missing on the Ryko version of "Dance The Do".

Just out of curiosity, if anyone knows:

Did Brother Michael ever have to get a "real" job in his life? I know that he dabbled in music/comedy/poetry at various times, mostly in the late 60s and 70s, but was he able to make a living continually in music over the majority of his life? Or did he need to do something else to support his family (that is, if Paul didn't set him up financially)?

    That’s a good question .

Add photography to his list of things Michael has dabbled in.

Whether he has made any money with photography beyond his family related books, I’m not sure of.

He was a sheep farmer, color consultant, chain gang foreman, fighter pilot and well-known table tennis wicket keeper.

Oh wait, those were all John Lennon...

He didn't "dabble" in music/comedy/poetry. That was his full time job in the '60s and '70s. Between the Scaffold, Grimms, McGough & McGear, and McGear solo, that's nine albums and more singles than I'm willing to count between 1966 to 1981, including three that hit the UK top 10.

As for how he's made his money since 1981, every time you see this photo, Mike gets a million dollars.

That fellow next to Paul drinking the pint should have gotten a million dollars... ;)

Sweet Baby was only included on the See For Miles CD...Calico, could you be thinking of the single version...?
It was not included on the Ryko CD.

I'm very curious now Calico, I've checked versions I have and "Eight Arms To Hold You" and find no variations for "Sweet Baby"
Would love to know if there is one out there.....Thanks.

Ok,the 45 version clocks in at 3:39....the CD version at 3:50 so as you described that added bit at the end would be the difference
only we don't have the original 45 on CD. I hope that is included on this set.

  25. I met MM about 20-25 years ago when he had a photography show at as San Francisco fine art photo gallery. He had several shows around the world. One of my best friends purchased one of his signed black and white prints for around $2000. which he left me in his will when he passed. I think he sold out most of that particular show.
