Yes I'd really like to have a copy of this. I think I'll try and track it down regardless.

I always liked the live Billy Preston album, it's like a companion to the Stones' Brussels '73.

Yes, I've heard this too and it's great....same boat though -- I don't know where I heard it. I found it on Youtube, probably.

George played on Giddy-Up but it was produced by Mick Taylor.

Great album, but the sound quality of the live stuff is terrible (imo). - Maybe recent remasters are better?

With John Mayall, Diary of a Band Vol. I an II. Volume I in particular has some stunning Mick Taylor work. The recording is definitely lo-fi, but so worth checking out. Still fairly affordable on vinyl if you scratch around.

Blues From Laurel Canyon is my favorite Mayall album with Taylor.

I've always thought Stranger In This Town was great as well. I wish they would reissue it with bonus tracks.

The strange thing about this is that when this was resissued on cd in Japan, they changed the track listing from the original lp.

    Original release
    Side one

    2. "Let It Be" (Lennon, McCartney)
    3. "Let's Go Get Stoned" (Valerie Simpson, Nickolas Ashford, Jo Armstead)
    4. "Billy's Bag" (Preston)
    Side two

    1. "Will It Go Round in Circles" (Preston, Bruce Fisher)
    2. "Outa-Space" (Preston, Greene)
    3. "Higher" (Vamp)
    4. "Get Back" (Lennon, McCartney)
    2002 CD reissue
    1. "Day Tripper" (Lennon, McCartney) – 2:07
    2. "The Bus" (Preston, Greene) – 10:58
    3. "Let It Be" (Lennon, McCartney) – 2:28
    4. "Will It Go Round in Circles" (Preston, Fisher) – 3:44
    5. "Let's Go Get Stoned" (Simpson, Ashford, Armstead) – 1:36
    6. "Space Race" (Preston) – 1:57
    7. "Amazing Grace" (traditional; arranged by Preston) – 4:43
    8. "That's the Way God Planned It" (Preston) – 4:05

I like his work on this album. He also cut a version of this song with the Bluesbreakers.

He does a good job on this remake of the Yardbirds' I'm Not Talking from the Chesterfield Kings Let's Go Get Stoned album. This is a cool album and is basically a tribute to the Stones even if all of the songs aren't Stones covers. Kim Simmonds from Savoy Brown also appears on it.

A side note: Greg Prevost and Andy Babiuk from the Chesterfield Kings wrote the great and essential Rolling Stones Gear book.

Lesser known track that he's great on. A pretty hot tune all around.

Count me as a fan of Tails’ searing slide work on Ron Wood’s MARVELOUS sophomore effort from 75 titled NOW LOOK—Tails provides some wild bottleneck on a track titled “It’s Unholy.” Pure Electricity!

Agree, @John Fell on BLUES FROM LAUREL CANYON—love the fire he starts on “2401” and “Fly Tomorrow.”

If one likes the live 75' set with Jack Bruce there is also a nice unofficial show from Sweden that is fairly common.

The albums with Carla are not cheap but worthwhile. I used to have Too Hot For Snakes...Plus on Collectors Choice but lost it somehow and now it's priced sky high. I was able to find the original Too Hot For Snakes and Ring of Truth CDs for a little better price. Still would love a reissue of the Collectors Choice it would be a perfect candidate for Real Gone.

Agreed, "Fly Tomorrow" is particularly joyfull to lay back and chill to.
Stranger In This Town has some good performances and Mick incorporates Red House with renewed interest from hearing Jimi's performance on the original Winterland Album.
