As far as I know there's at least a bootleg of their 1997 Bournemouth concert out there:

Have any of them ever performed the theme song live?

  7. It seems to me that "The Monkees" are simultaneously "Micky, Mike, Davy, and Peter" and "any combination of 2 or 3 of Micky, Mike, Davy, and Peter," and that this has been true since the Monkees first downsized to a trio after Peter's departure in 1968. "The Monkees" went from:
    • "Micky, Mike, Davy, and Peter" (original configuration) to
    • "Micky, Mike, and Davy" (IR and Present) to
    • "Micky and Davy" (Changes) to
    • "Micky, Davy, and Peter" (Pool It!) to
    • "Micky, Mike, Davy, and Peter" (Justus) to
    • "Micky, Mike, and Peter" (Good Times! and Christmas Party).
And there have been additional configurations in concert: Micky and Peter, Davy and Peter, and now Mike and Micky—these were/are usually set off with a phrase like "The Sound of the Monkees" or something similar, but that's not fooling anyone. It's the Monkees.

I think DJBH did it --- once with Tork joining them live.

I think Micky has done it solo, but certainly not often.

I'm just talking about a 2 disc DE. There's enough for that (just adding the bonus tracks alone) and would be easy enough for Rhino to knock out while fans waited for other bigger releases.

Wasn't Tork the main one against doing this live?

Bonus track on the 2012 disc: "Door Into Summer" from 2013. (Maybe the only song they could've replaced "Daily Nightly" with that was worth the exchange, or at least an even trade for me & my brother, who caught the latter leg.)

And I didn't see 2011, but would vote for a Nesmith-inclusive "Pleasant Valley Sunday," since he played the main guitar riff on that one (loudly, even : ) Likewise, he reprised his organ part on "For Pete's Sake." So you might want him on those.

The back tray and back photo of the Live CD are very nice. Still disappointed about the lack of live GCF but looking forward to this CD just the same.

Yes- he said in an 1980 interview that he would not do it.

However, this was a few years earlier at Disneyland and he had been drinking. So, why not? :)

First official video for the upcoming Monkees Live Album. Perhaps a DVD/Blu-ray in the future?

Mike wants $100 an autograph now. $90 for a picture with him.....add in the cost for a Comicon entrance and you have a wool hat over your purse.

It was the Denver Comicon, they changed the name to something else. Mike was offered a % of MTV at the very beginning. The original brass were amazed he turned it down. Massive money even for a silver spooner and Pacific Arts.
