Yeah it could have used a little bit more dynamic range. But compared to the 2007 CD it's better. The 2007 version has the ending to "Flaming" edited so that alone makes it a garbage release.

Hopefully they do a simultaneous hi res release of the mono album (and Saucerful)

Has anyone found this up for pre order anywhere else yet? Wanting to make sure I don’t miss out again. Probably my only decent chance at having a mono LP.

Honestly, there's an argument to be made that Help and Beatles for Sale sound objectively worse in Mono compared to stereo..

This is great news, only downside is that it will (maybe) dilute the value of my 1997 UK Mono vinyl with GF slv & sticker, which has been good enough up until now. Also have the corresponding CD box + the Ok I will stop here. However assuming the new release is the same mastering as the RSD issue?

Will this be available elsewhere or just from Acoustic Sounds? Any other links yet?

I think I’m going to buy it! I have one question: Will there be a digital release of the mono version A Saucerful Of Secrets some day?

Sounds like you want A Nice Pair on CD.

I first heard "Piper" with the "stereo" US Tower copy that was played on my late 70s FM-Rock station and all messed up with track substitutions/deletions besides, so pity me. That's how the music imprinted itself on me and the predomination of the "real" UK mono edition on CD has vexed me for 40 years! And I can't afford a US Tower '67 copy! I'm now used to the album beginning with "See Emily Play!" I liked the "stereo" mix. I was struck at the time by the sequencing of the songs as I heard them on the US edition. I've wanted to buy a copy for the last 25 years but have not seen anything that looked like it would satisfy me. Having the album without "See Emily Play" [even as a bonus track] would be hard for me.

I am so stoked for this! BG remaster cut from the tapes!
I missed the RSD version - so this poses the question - are RSD day titles no longer exclusive?
I think going forward, most if not all RSD vinyl products will be 'special editions' for the collectors more so than versions than can sell longer.
They didn't pay BG to cut that just to sell it once.

This one isn’t cut from tapes unfortunately. Cut from a transfer of the tapes and not AAA.

Bummer, so the RSD was and this was not? Sorry if I missed it

This should be just a repress of the RSD without the bonus poster and outer cover thing.

Neither were. Both are the exact same cut from 2017, cut from a transfer of the master tapes.

This is at least the third time Piper has received a mono reissue in the last twenty or so years, yet no mono Saucerful on CD. I'm wondering if the tapes are missing. I know it got a mono vinyl release some time ago.

I think you answered your own question. How could there be a vinyl pressing of Saucerful if the tapes are missing?

You're assuming they used the original tapes.

No, I’m not. You never mentioned “original”.

Nevertheless, there is clearly a high quality tape source available.
