Moody Blues - Days of Future Passed Original Mix question

    That may be so, but I don't think the non-DSS cover was released until later.

    I've always wondered what the deal was with the cover variations - when they showed up, what the true "original" (UK 1st press) cover is, etc.

    I always assumed this was the original:

    And that this one was later, after "Nights..." was re-released and became a hit:

    And then the one Donnnie posted above (without the white banner, with the album title directly superimposed on the painting) was later, after the more "corporate" look fell out of fashion in the Seventies.

    The first is a UK cover and the second is a US cover.

    I assumed the US covers had "London" on them:

    That second one looks like a paste-over (promo?) of the first.

    All these years later - I found a Deram LP with the remix.

    Catalog #DOA 6. It's a Holland pressing for the UK, in the Polydor era (UK printed cover, uses stampers made in the UK, can tell by the 420 code). Color me surprised.

    Why didn't the band like the original 1967 UK mix ?
