    Dylan is a tough one. I feel just as strongly about the Freewheeling cover. And perhaps more so of the shots from behind from the Bangla Desh concert.

    This is a pretty defining image of Joy Division and Ian Curtis:

    Of course it's a video but you could probably take any frame from the Phil Collins music video for In The Air Tonight and say it's an iconic image:

    And fairly or not, I think this picture of James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo from Metallica easily became an ironically iconic and unintentionally defining image:
