I came across mine today. It features a series of people saying, "It's not your face...it's not your body...it's not your voice...it's not your clothes...it's not your hair...it's not your job...it's not your laugh...it's not your walk...

    ...it's your watch."

A voiceover then goes on to explain that people know more about you from your watch than from anything else, and that you should therefore buy a Seiko.

I would dearly love to find out who thought up this brilliant campaign, so I could fly to New York, go to their ad agency office, and have the exquisite pleasure of slapping them in the face, continuously, for a minimum of one hour. But I can't do that, so the next best thing is for me to resolve never to purchase a Seiko product for the rest of my days.

What commercials, past or present, have gotten under *your* skin?

Two alarm company commercials. One is that current one that shows a mother and two children in a house; someone smashes their window, their alarm goes off, and the alarm company calls them. The other shows people supposedly relaxing because they know their homes are being protected by alarm systems; in it a man screams that he is "finally able to relax" in such a shrill voice that I'd hate to hear him when he's tense.

    ALL commercials suck.

Unfortunately, they are way better than (almost) any show on T.V.

    Back to the music room...

By far, the most annoying and most horrible commercials I see on TV are for eBay. Their ad agency must be the worst company know to man.

How horrible are they? The singing, the parodies, UGH! I can't stand them.

The allergy medicine commercials...People dancing through wheat fields, in serious need of an ass whooping. Chick talking about her dog "Rufus" and the lame-o guy concerned about the presence of pet dander in his life . . . Why aren't they home listening to SACD's?

AAAARGH! I hated those! I haven't seen them in a while so I hope they lost a lot of business for that one and learned their lesson.

I can tune out most commercials unless there's annoying music involved. Our regional Ford truck dealers are blanketing the airwaves with that butt-ugly macho jerk Toby Keith mugging the camera, "Where ya' been! Look again!"
    Go AWAY Toby!

Although I am a fan of Toby Keith's his Ford commercials are definitely annoying. One of the most overplayed commercials in the early 1990s is "You Got The Right One Baby, Uh Huh" with Ray Charles promoting Pepsi.

I don't even know what it's for, but there's a commercial still airing that has a woman sitting at a table, holding her little dog, and they're both "singing/howling" at each other. It just goes on and on for no discernable purpose. This commercial is why they invented the mute button!
