Contains an embarassment of geek film alum: Star Trek, James Bond, Star Wars and Indiana Jones!

So naturally I love the cast. Christopher Plummer, John Gielgud and Walter Gotell bring some gravitas.

Gregory Peck with his Irish accent blows any acting chops he might bring to the table unfortunately.

Ennio Morricone, a genius in his own right, provides an overactive soundtrack.

This CBS made for TV film contains dramatic pauses for commercial breaks so it's a bit dippy watching it straight through but the pacing is fairly tight.

The Vatican-Nazi relationship is frankly quite interesting and obviously a very under-utilized plot point. I can't say I have ever seen it before. Seems like with any other film of the type, all the back-channel stuff is where all the action was.
