You have to take sun exposure into consideration. People who live in places like Norway where the sun is weak age much more slowly (skin wise) then those who live in sunny cal. But he looks good for 53 - could pass for mid 40's.

Frank Wess from the Count Basie Orchestra in the 50s-60s. He is still playing in NYC. Born in 1922, I believe. First popularized flute in a jazz context.

  5. I dunno; I'd say he looks at least his age, and has really changed compared to the kind of pretty guy he used to be (see also Dave Gilmour, who aged oppositely to Roger Waters and now looks like a 60something Homer Simpson).

Me! I had my post 55 check up (finally) and the doctor said I had the heart, lungs and cholesterol levels of a 30 year old. Liver, more like a 45 year old. Oh well. hair not grey yet, and if I had a bit more of it...

I just watched Pretenders-Live in London and I think Chrissie, mascara issues aside, looked and sounded fantastic. (Her boots did not appeaer to be made of Chinese plastic)

Pete Seeger. His voice may be mostly shot now but he is over 90 and anything but feeble.

When we're talking Keef, the issue is not how he has aged but rather wonderment at his still being able to stand unassisted ...;)

i hate all the speculative "what if" Beatles/Lennon threads, because the past is the past, what's done is done, etc.

but in my mind's eye, i've imagined that if John Lennon were still alive, he'd basically go along with what Ringo's doing right here. i think he would have aged very well if allowed the opportunity.

Grateful Dead bass player Phil Lesh at 71, maybe 72. Sorry no pic at the ready, but he's well enough known that a lot of folks will know what I am talking about. One of the drummer's Mickey Hart time has been reasonably kind to as well.
Also Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock and Quincy Jones took forever to age. And points for, roughly 85? year old ex pat jazz legend Randy Weston. Last I saw him he looked damn nearly regal and very tall. McCoy Tyner has held up pretty well too.
Btw, as mentioned above I think, Jimmy Page looks great. Emmylou had a head start being such a beautiful lady, but o man, that beauty has aged with real grace

Judging by the recent TV programmes Jeff Lynne looks and sounds pretty good for 65.

Perhaps you should have worded your post a little differently.
I'm pretty certain he does not want to get behind thee first.
