I'm going to bid on a couple, but why insist on Media Mail? First Class is cheaper and faster, and I think you can get 3 CDs into an under-13 oz. package.

Well I have had good luck with media mail in the past. I can print the shipping labels at home. I will definitely look into the first class mailing though.

As for "leaving something to play on them"

I still have my DCC Wheels of Fire (it just looks too good on the shelf to sell it) and my other 300 gold cds (a full MFSL collection) as well as lots of SACDs and about 1500 other audio cds!

I am hoping to make close to $2K on the golds, and that would be a great pair of new bookshelf speakers. And I figure at todays prices, If i ever want to go back and buy some of the DCC titles I miss, It won't cost me much more than my selling price! It will be sad to see the DCCs go though. I kept a spreadsheet and apparently I spent only a total of $1120 on all those above. I will never be able to get them that cheap again....unless.....unless they go back in to print!

Nice list - any chance of offering international shipping to SHF members?

    Yes harmonica98,

I will consider shipping international to forum folks, since I have called this forum one of my usual stops and it has helped me numerous times.

Intl buyers add $2.50 to the shipping to compensate for slight higher shipping fees.

I usually say media mail but if someone only buys one I ship first class because it is cheaper. People usually want the cheapest shipping possible.

It is doable but not recommended to try to make an under-13 oz. package with three CDs. You'd have to send it pretty much without any extra padding in a light bubble envelope to achieve this goal. When someone buys 3 CDs at one time from me on eBay, I simply upgrade the shipping to Priority (having charged the first class rate for 13 oz.) and send them in a box. It'll end up weighing close to a pound, or maybe a bit over. I may end up spending a tad more than I charge, but it saves the trouble and time to squeeze the three jewel cases in an envelope. :p

I expressed my reservation about media mail many times before. :shh:

Thanks folks, The whole collection (44 DCC Golds and 2 DualDiscs) went for $2365. And after everything was said and done (paypal, ebay fees) I took home over $2200. This was better than expected! I hope everyone is happy with their purchases! There were some surprises (Ray Charles Country/Western hits and Wings At The Speed Of Sound) and some disappointments (Metallica's, Bonnie Raitts and Late for the Sky)...

I will be scouting audiogon for a great pair of speakers probably early next year! Can't Wait!

I was surprised at the amount you received for Wings ATSOS too. I remember finding it with as a BIN on eBay and I paid $15. I posted it on here and someone actually told me I paid too much! :D

Glad to hear you did so well overall! Be sure to let us know what speakers you decide on!
