I don't know how he did this as his music is something I would never listen to or would think anybody would but I am proud of him for his success. I just hope he can handle all the attention and money. Rapper Sueco the Child Signs to Atlantic Records Following TikTok-Fueled Hit 'Fast': Exclusive Please note: The video is NSFW.
Congratulations! As with many Contracts, the details must be read very carefully, and assessed. Given the history of the Music Industry, and Contracts, well... Let’s just say “it’s not necessarily ‘money’ in the bank”...
As a friend of mine says shrewdly, I wish moderate success. Successful enough to be fulfilled and make a good living, moderate enough to avoid the insanity.
Well, congrats to him. Hope he can push the boundaries a bit more as he writes more music; the lyrics in particular are... well. Generic. My 20 year old son listens to this kind of thing all the time. And, yeah, it makes me feel old too. And still a little appalled that the gender politics of this kind of music is going backwards while quite a lot of the rest of the world is moving forwards.
Congrats to him on getting signed. That sample is pretty infectuous. Is it a saz or a chumbush? I miss the vocal melody, though. Which racetrack is that in the video?
Wow, congratulations. Not to my taste but I can listen to it. You must be feeling really proud. I hope he has some very savvy people behind him on the business end of things.
I’m surprised any record company is still offering 7 figure contracts . In the old days I think that figure was an advance against future sales, and production costs, etc., would be deducted from that amount but that was back when the record business was more traditional than it is now. I have no idea what “deals” mean these days. In any case, best of luck to him .
Super nerdy. Like mall food-court-Cinnabon nerdy. But nerdy = smart. I see what he's doing here. The lyrics, the hot chicks, the fast cars, the drink, the attitude, the weed, are all cliches in the genre, but the kid can make a passable melody, put it on a repetitive loop, and BAM! - instant party for all of the kids who think the above symbols are cool. He's playing up to what the people want. It's like Slayer. They were never satanists, yet the imagery sells because it's edgy. If this was my kid, I probably wouldn't want to hear him sing about "whiskey dickin'." At the same time I would dig into his brain to see what he truly believes. I mean... ...if he's really bagging those girls, he should hook his old man up. If the chicks are just props, well, I'd probably have to hook the kid up! My son has no play (at least not yet).
You have a point there, but after 80s hair bands fizzled out, rock became a little more elitist in outlook and many of the rock acts that emerged since then have at least put forward the pretense that they look down their noses at those kinds of things. And I think that is one of the reasons, and there are several reasons, that fewer rock acts have broken through in the last 15 years or so.
Cool. And you’d luck But remember every single expense goes to the label first. When the promo guys take him to dinner and pick him up , all that comes out of his potential sales first.
