My record collection is cool

At the height of coolness is probably the time to sell.

 

That's why I have them. But cool they aren't!

There's some bloody awful tracks on them though...

I wonder if a lot of us have epiphanies of sorts? I'm pretty sure that mine came back in the mid-90's or so.

I have made sure that almost every person on the face of the earth would think my collection is cool. In fact if it gets any cooler, I will need to buy another house just to store it.

 

Over 10,000 LPs. I ain't gotta prove nothin'!

Yeah but it is a sign of cool to like that album because most critics hate it. When anyone tells me how uncool that album is I just tell them they really don't know what cool is.

 

I've always had impeccable taste in music.

 

My record collection is based on my personal tastes only. I have a lot of records by the same people, so it is not overly eclectic, but still somewhat eclectic if that makes sense. I have a lot of records that are now considered classics, but they only became that way out of happenstance. It was never anything planned. If I were to rate it out of younger tastes, it would probably be considered dated, but music tastes are subjective and usually wraps around phases of one's lifestyles and experiences.

I have really scaled down my music purchases this last couple of years as I have just about everything I have ever wanted. However, my collection was at one time much larger, but I culled it down around the mid 1980's to make more space and to manage it a little easier. Records aren't worth much if they just stay in their jackets all the time. You have to be playing them or they are a waste of money.

 

...or maybe classic & rare albums from the early 1950's to the present. Just sayin'...

 

Nobody can ever convince me that Hot Space by Queen is uncool!

 

If I were going to own one ELP album, that'd be the one.

 

He was pretty popular in Vietnam so you might score a few dongs there.
