Need Preamp Advice for a Marantz 8B

Hmmmm, I don't know; I had a bitchin' MX-110 that I sold to a US Treasury agent (who had a McIntosh 275 and needed a vintage preamp) but I've not heard all of the variations. Have you considered a McIntosh C-20? The early tube rectified versions sound great (to me). Since they really aren't collected they can be found for much cheaper perhaps..

The C-20 isn't one that I have considered but after looking at it I think it might be a good choice for me as well. The more research I do the more confused I get. I think I'm going to see if I can find any of these models locally and try a few out if possible. If not, I may have to take the plunge and buy a few of the different models to see what I like and unload the ones I don't.
