Just curious. I placed a web order with them at the beginning of the month, that hasn't arrived yet. Their web page / account access has locked me out because I've forgotten my password, so I can't check the order status there.

Their phone number goes straight to a full voice mailbox, and two emails have been unreturned.

I've been a customer for several years - and realize this is a busy time, but in the past I've always been able to contact them - anyone know what's up?
    thanks,
    Chip

There is a thread on here where it states that ND is no longer. Really sad, as I liked dealing with them quite a bit.

Thank you. I just googled and it looks like that's the case. I liked them too, but it's crap that they still accept orders, to the extent that I even received a confirmation.

That is weird. Were the funds pulled out of your account?

Yes, which seems equally weird. Guess that process is automated. Too bad, they were a go-to for many years.

Drove by last week. Windows were all papered over and a closed sign hung on door.

You might consider sending them a snail-mail letter informing them you can't get into your account to check the order status. The letter will get to wherever they are forwarding them, and somebody will probably get back to you concerning unfinished business. If you got a receipt or acknowledgement e-mail from your order, copy it and put it in there.

Well, I let my bank know, so that’s taken care of.

I don’t know why they wouldn’t put some type of notification on their web page - or at least disable the order system.

You didn't exactly say you were billed. Were you billed for this order?

"After 40 years, The Needle Doctor is closing its doors, effective immediately. We are incredibly grateful for the support you've shown us, both locally in the Twin Cities and globally. What started as a tiny little shop on the University of Minnesota campus grew into a world-wide analog haven. The staff was never larger than 10 or so people, which should say all that needs to be said about the work ethic of those that wore the hat. Customer service was always the centerpiece; whether it was helping music lovers solve problems, helping seasoned vets take the next step with their system, or helping grandparents find a flip-over needle for their console stereo. Every day was an adventure. We hope that our love for analog and our friendly service set us apart from the rest. With that, one last thank you to everyone who's been a part of this journey. It's been a pleasure. The Needle Doctor is dead. Long live The Needle Doctor."

Thanks. It's a shame to lose businesses like this. My first purchase from them was probably in 2011, always a positive experience.

Link to Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal article. Everything is temporary. I have purchased numerous items here and in his prior store on the University of MN campus perimeter. He employed quality people, and I know a couple would carry on Jerry's legacy with respect, professionalism, and savvy business sense.....Hope he recovers and reconsiders his business succession choice. Our world is less without this gem.

I think it was Jerry that posted that notice himself. Which was kind, and considerate knowing record people here are a high concentration. The post was dead and dark with no replies until I stepped in with thanks.
