I agree - but this thread is about peoples negative experiences rather that the positive ones. I too have had very positive experiences from sellers on here. I don't dispute that at all. But it seems that a few here obviously haven't. I think that a photograph can help sometimes. I would NEVER buy anything off eBay with having a look at a picture.

    Ouch, that's gotta hurt.

  3. I've never had any negative experiences so far.
In fact, on the handful of purchases I've made so far through this forum, I usually found that the sellers rather downgraded their records/CDs a bit.
And communication was much more pleasant, friendly and helpful, than I am used to on auction websites.

Wonder why your comments were removed. Did you slander the seller in your feedback? If not that's a little bit worrying as how are we supposed to know who are the good and bad sellers.

Why don't you PM a gort and ask why the feedback was removed?

I know what this thread is about.

My point was that pictures shouldn't be mandatory just because a few people have had negative experiences here. If people can't trust the classifieds without pictures, then maybe they shouldn't buy. This isn't ebay.

A picture of an LP or CD on a computer screen doesn't really tell the full story anyway.

:agree: If you can't trust the seller don't buy.

I've had one or two over-graded CD's over the years and the sellers immediately rectified the situation.

On the other side of the coin I had a member who received a broken lift-lock case from me, but the CD was unharmed. I can't recall if the artwork was effected at all. I offered to pay 50% of the cost of a new lift-lock jewel case and he wanted to charge me $5.00 for it. :wtf: When I said you've got to be kidding, but I'll cover $2.50 anyways he declined seeming mildly upset.

Sorry, once it leaves my hands I can not be held responsible if your letter carrier trashes it other than you send the package back and I'll refund your money and file for insurance handing the package over to Canada Post.

It was a couple of years ago. The seller hasn't logged on here in over a year. I decided to just let it go.

Hey. I wasn't even suggesting that you didn't know. I'm not here for confrontation - it's not my thing. Just making a comment.

However, although I agree 100% that a picture doesn't tell the full story - one thing it does is give you an idea of the cover condition. And as I have already said, I have personally found the grading of vinyl I have bought here to be very accurate - and generally very generously under-graded in many cases. Maybe someone who has actually has had negative experiences here would be better to pass comments than I am. I sell vinyl on eBay and know a thing or two about making sure the buyer is a very happy bunny - by communicating the LP's condition both written and visually.

I agree with this... as a seller, I leave positive feedback for the buyer as soon as I have payment. I figure that the buyer has lived up to his/her side of the deal, and now it's time to ship.

If everyone waits to get positive feedback before leaving it, nothing would EVER be left. People need to chill out in general...

All that said, everyone I've come across here has been 100% super friendly. Just lucky so far I guess...

I've been very happy with the Marketplace buying experience. I find the grading to generally be right on the money and members usually package the discs very well.

I have had one negative experience from a seller that is still current.
Disc described as "As New", that didnt arrive for 2 months and when it did, the issue was completely different (cat. number and release label different) and playing surface completely covered in medium to heavy scratches.

Ok sure, the delay may have been out of the seller's hands, but the rest surely wasn't. He didn't return my comments or attempt to correct the situation either.

I was fairly new to the Forum at the time and didnt wish to "rock the boat" by placing a negative, but this was a disgusting trade.
