there's a note on NYA about "the big day coming soon". i wonder if the new crazy horse album will be available for pre-orders tomorrow.
I would also hope for Archives 3, but the ecological theme of Neil’s post would more likely point towards the new album.
I’d love to see Archives III released this year, but I don’t mind not dinging my bank account before the Holidays either. I’d be content with at least the new Crazy Horse/ Rick Rubin album. That has me intrigued. It’s not like Neil has been stingy with his releases the last few years.
"I'm changing my bus and touring fleet from bio-diesel to R99 and I'm really excited about the possibility of touring with this soon" THEN "R99 is no good since it is made from palm oil which further impacts our planet, I need to reconsider everything" I love Neil's passion and love for the earth but doesn't he know the planet is already "Too Far Gone"?
I think the only release we'll see before years end will be the new Rick Rubin produced album with Crazy Horse. Thanks to @Kevin j for pointing out that the Archives III will be delayed. I read the Letters section myself to see if there was any hint for the rest of 2022, but there was none. Neil by far has the most aggressive release schedule of any legacy artist out there. There’s nothing wrong with his fanbase catching their collective breath. If the new album with CH is half as good as Toast, we Neil fans will be rejoicing.
I want to see him live as soon as possible, but applaud his efforts and attention towards environmental concerns. It's one of my favorite things about him as a person.
I listened to this yesterday. If you're looking for interesting details about the new album, there isn't really anything here.
is NYA not playing for anyone else today? It just stopped playing about 2 hours ago for me and hasn't come back.
If I read it right, according to Thrasher's Wheat, the new album is called "Nuggets", and Neil only plays electric guitar on two songs, and a wide range of other instruments over the rest: Neil Young News: Rick Rubin & Neil Young Tease Their New Music For Jack White | Broken Record
Someone else producing, tunes written first, electric guitar on only a couple of songs, strange instrumentation... All good and very promising in my book. Really looking forward to hear this new album.
Looking forward to it no matter what but I'm not going to lie, a Crazy Horse album with "electric guitar on only a couple songs" does disappointment me a little.
I can see why. CH is all about the electric stuff, but I have a soft spot for acoustic Neil so I don't mind.
