New "Battlestar Galactica" show (Sam Esmail, NBCUniversal)

Not a "reboot" as this article claims, but a new story in the Battlestar universe. Could be very good!

We shall see. I think they pulled the ripcord too soon on Caprica.

Oh, and another streaming service to subscribe to...or not.

Woo. Gonna have to binge watch that.

 

They could do a Rome sort of story if they set it on Kobol - Kobol (RDM) - Battlestar Wiki - around the time that people are leaving Kobol to settle the 12 colonies, but, the premise established in the miniseries that humanlike cylons already existed on Kobol 2,000 years before robotic cylons were invented on Caprica did not make any sense...

So it will be interesting to see what time period and location Esmail chooses.

 

Given that Caprica was too different from BSG and didn't get enough viewers, I expect this to be more traditional - space ships, cylons (fleshy and robotic), etc. I really liked Caprica, but too many BSG fans didn't bother with it.
