The Monty Python comedy of middle-aged and elderly men seething and resenting beautiful, musically powerful young female artists never gets old.

Not as bad as I feared it would be, but a little boring most of the way through. Eilish's "Bedroom Pop" style is not to everyone's taste, but it is integrated as well as it can be with the traditional Bond jazzy/rock/orchestral style.

Exactly, as Grandpa Simpson said so wisely:
"I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary."

I really don't think this is the case.
Personally just not a fan of ASMR/babble type delivery of vocals.
Love to hear what Rose Berlin could do

Expected something much worse. It's very downbeat but tasteful. Nothing great about it either.

  12. Are you kidding ? No she didn’t play 12 hours a day in Hamburg clubs on uppers.

Her and her brother recorded their own music in a bedroom and started uploading songs four years ago and built their audience. Four years later they made an album and already had millions of followers.

No she didn’t struggle in clubs bars or at auditions. Nor did she work with a plethora of writers, arrangers and producers to come up with a style and sound.

Sure the record company promotion kicked in later just like for many artists. But the record sold because people loved it.

Hilarious that he included Katy Perry. She hardly slogged in nightclubs. She was groomed in Nashville by a group of people.

Yeah and I have to probably with that if the music is good. But too many cooks can sometimes over bake a cake.

    Or an album.

It may not be true in your case — you seem to merely have a mild, reasonable disapprobation toward her vocal style — but for the twitchiest denunciatory posters, it’s their overtorqued drive to deny her any potency or legitimacy whatsoever that’s the tell.

Exactly. I think she’s great. And she sang “I Will” on the carpool karaoke show.

Which is odd, most here know I have zero taste on the definition of what makes a good vocalist.

I've had a third listen to this and it isn't a grower. I can see that the style may work in the context of a late- night listen but it is not strong enough for a film title song particularly in a James Bond franchise which carries with it certain expectations. I somehow can't see this being a memorable addition to the soundtrack history of the series. I have no problem with giving youngsters a go at the job but I don't think this has worked at all. The vocal is too isolated, there is no memorable tune or hook, and instrumentally and production-wise it is very weak.

I have given this a go but it is not hitting home for me. Perhaps the film will make up for the weak title song. If it matches the mood then I think we'll all be falling asleep.

Silence, fool! At her age the Beatles were singing “A Day in the Life” and “Imagine” in the grimy boîtes of the Reeperbahn.
