Fantastic news! I look forward to this.
Next think you know they're going to announce Lindsey Buckingham has joined the group
I'll be happy to hear this but....
As others have said, perhaps it will be best to leave The Day Before You Came and Under Attack as their swansongs. Other underwhelming 'reunion' songs I could mention are The Stone Roses' 'All For One' and some of Queen's post Freddie efforts.
On the other hand, if all we hope for is just a small dose of the old magic, I am sure we won't be disappointed.
Why? All 4 still alive and participating.
Yes, but also a reunion and a completely distinct career phase.
yup, the forum I belong to is buzzing, almost beside themselves with excitement. Something most of us thought we would never, ever hear.
No matter what they put out, it wont live up to the hype that will surround it,
would they have been better to just put it out without any notice like David Bowie did with Where are We Now
I expect a blend of the classic sound with more modern stylings. Which is fine; I don't expect them to sound like they did 40 years ago, vocally or musically.
Excited to hear the results!
Also, they never officially disbanded... just took a really looong brake
Would love to her their classic sound with modern pop embellishments
They've all taken care of themselves through the years and Benny released an album last year, so why not?
I actually have high hopes for this one, which I really think will be fullfilled.
Got the book ABBA - The Story last week, time to read and listen!
This is a moment to be savoured for all fans around the world.
I'm afraid some autotune is inevitable, if they want some chart success - autotune became a norm for any top 50 song recently. Let's hope at least that it will be tastefully done.
Nah, his ego is bigger than all the ABBAs combined.
From what I know about Benny and Bjorn and how they have curated the ABBA legacy, these songs would have to be really good enough in their eyes to merit a release.
This is a banner time for ABBA fans. The movie sequel "Mamma Mia, Here We Go Again" hits theatres this July, and the Virtual Tour is planned for 2019, and now this!!
WOW!! I am OVER THE MOON!
I never thought this would happen.
I really enjoyed Agnetha’s 2013 album, ‘A’. She was still in great voice, though the use of autotune was annoying. With ABBA, who knows what will happen? Still, this is a very good sign.
Is this the biggest reunion ever??
Great news, cant wait to hear new ABBA music!!
I hope they realize it’s 2018.
Picking up where they left off will just not work.
after so much bad news, this was nice to hear.
And it can't be for the money... Benny and Bjorn must be f***ing loaded.
Never saw this coming.
Until this announcement, I'd genuinely hoped that ABBA wouldn't reform, as I just didn't imagine them being able to recapture lightning in a bottle years after the fact (and it seems as if certain members shared this concern). Through their resurgence in popularity over the course of the 1990s to the massive success of Mamma Mia! and a handful of fleeting appearances together, all linked by countless rejected offers with some considerable money on the table, I didn't think they'd actually do it... Who knew coming together over a virtual tour would see all four members realise they never quite lost that spark and still had something to give as a unit? Where I was once cynical about such an idea, I've long since given up on Just Like That ever getting an official release because of how much this band protects its legacy. If they're willing to make a statement promising new music, who am I to argue with their judgement? Bring it on, I say...
Wow, this is incredible! It doesn't even matter if the new songs are any good or not. Just the fact that the four of them got together and worked again on new music is a beautiful thing. Whatever they've done, I'm sure it benefited from the lack of pressure and expectations. Great news!
Agnetha var väldigt attraktivt, ja ?
Such an unexpected surprise. This is great news!
Yeah, reportedly they gonna do two songs, would be cool if they consider making more tracks afterwards maybe.
REALLY HOPE this will be an ABBA album, and NOT "Abba Ft billions of guest show off artists", like the standard in today's pop music
ABBA and ABBA alone. They do not need an army of "guests" to make great music
