Rega P5 user with Denon DL-110 here, and sometimes Nagaoka MP-110. I love the simplicity of Rega tables.
Imagine two thin layers of plastic with some foam insulation that hardens, that's about what you get. I sure would be afraid to drop it!! Not much to vibrate or conduct any unwanted anything in this plinth, it weighs about as much as a roll of toilet paper!
I am proud of it. I love it! I post in the playing on vinyl threads almost daily, so here’s this morning’s pic . . .
Oh yes, good pic, that is exactly what we need some good pics, come on folks, give us some good Rega pics, show some Rega pride!
Some old pictures of my Planar 6 setup and my room. Waiting patiently for my Amp/Phono stage to arrive. Just bought a Hegel H-190 and a Rega Aria v2. Can't wait to hear my Hegel+Aria+P6+KEF setup! Will post some more photos when I receive it. Missing on the picture is an Okki Nokki.
If you insist on more Rega Porn I bought this P6 a few years ago and it was a substantial step up from my 20+ year old Project. Moving from HOMC to LOMC with decent phono stage also helped. I used to have a wall shelf which was great on wooden floors. However I now have concrete floors and have no issue with isolation (even at high volume with speakers nearby). But now I am drooling over the P8 and P10's. It is a good thing my budget doesn't allow such expenditure.
New to the forum. Thinking of upgrading to a p6 or p8 but concerned about my wooden floors and footfalls. Any planar owners who have wooden floors had any problems with skipping ? Unfortunately I cant put up a wall bracket.
Ask and you shall receive. My P6 is up on the left along with a little over half my vinyl collection. The middle speakers are just for TV. I keep my 2 channel rig separate except for the Oppo which I used for cd 99% of the time and DVD's 1% of the time. The outer speakers are my B&W 804's and the music speakers. I have an REL sub behind the right speaker. I love the sound of my Rega. Musical. Simple. Has brought me 1000's of hours of musical pleasure.
Great set up. Looks like you have a room for $1000's more records. That's dangerous and the kind of danger I live for.
Yup... it's dangerous. Specially now that I've upgraded my entire setup. Music listening is at its peak right now. I want MORE....
late nite rega in Dublin.... I have the Planar 8 about a month or so now. Love it. I have three kids too and have had one broken cantilever so far and had to replace the Ania 2. Moved the turntable to a (hopefully) more secure and out of reach location ...
Awesome. The P8 is such a great looking deck. If I wasn't so happy with my 6 I might be tempted to upgrade. That $2k for the RP8 they were running for a while was tempting as well.
I love my P8/Apheta 3 combo. It replaced a Michell Gyro/SME 309 combo, and is definitely the better deck (though I have a soft spot for the Gyro.) I love the minimalism of the deck and the aesthetics, but I stayed for the musically fluid sound, rock solid sound stage, kickass bass, and realistic midrange and treble. I'm using a Bob's Sky SUT with my Apheta to great effect.
I picked up a "scratched" RP8 for 50% off from Music Direct, including full warranty, when the P8 came out. I couldn't find any scratch on it even looking closely. I'm running it with an Audio Note iQ3 MM.
I have ordered a P8 with Apheta 3 that should be arriving next week, so no pics for you yet. I am curious about your new acrylic cover. Can you share the company name? It probably wouldn't be practical to ship to Canada, but it looks very nice. Thanks
Unfortunately, it would probably cost more to get it shipped than it is worth. This is an individual that does this and he works for an acrylic company, I don't know the company he is employed by, I'm sorry. Where I presently live, it just seems to be very dusty, after 3 days you can find substantial dust on the top of components and I found that dust gets in and around the cover that came with the turntable and dust was under the turntable, so with the new cover that problem is a thing of the past, plus it just looks so nice, and you can see how I anchor it, where if someone hits the cover by accident, it will not move at all in any direction.
