Yes! I hope the "Girl on LSD" single makes the album!

Are these 2015 songs or older songs? Will this be like Springsteen's The Promise?

Older songs originally recorded for Wildflowers. I guess we're getting this instead of the Wildflowers re-issue we were also really hoping to get. Maybe we'll get both. :)

I'm fine with them not reissuing Wildflowers along with this as the CD and vinyl sound great as is. I really don't need the original album again. Really looking forward to this.

A lot of people never got the chance to purchase the vinyl though (or regretfully sold it for mad cash during a moment of financial urgency :sigh:)

I'm sure a deluxe version of this will include the original lp as well. The new 2015 remaster is done and waiting for some compression to be added for the cd release.

Looking forward to this release. "Wildflowers" is a beauty. But I'd wish they were a bit more creative with the release's title. "All The Rest" sounds boring.

It does sound like a title for the wildflowers deluxe bonus disc!

Can't comment on the original LP, but the 1994 Wildflowers CD is dynamic range compressed, like some of Petty's later stuff (Echo, The Last DJ). However, the PonoMusic 24/96 download has been remastered, and is wonderful.

I can't think about all the vinyl I sold during my college days. However I often just plowed some money into new records after I got some food for the week.

Didn't the record company prevent this song from being on Wildflowers?

been waiting for this deluxe edition for some time now... i heard rumors it was going to be released last year and when it didnt happen i was pretty bummed (and same w/ Purple Rain Deluxe)... but glad Petty followed through and plans to release this extended Wildflowers album. Cant wait!

Ideally they'll release these extras separately, and as part of a deluxe reissue.

Where's the new track? That video is 41 seconds long.

The "new" song ("Somewhere Under Heaven") sounds like it's from an older vintage than the rest of Wildflowers. Those lush banks of 12-strings and what sorta sounds like a chorus effect are very reminiscent of Let Me Up and, particularly, Into the Great Wide Open. Of course, that could be precisely why Petty dropped it—that it sounded too similar to what he and the Heartbreakers had done before. That relentless arpeggio sounds like hell to play, too.

    Tune's great, btw.

It has a similar sound guitar-wise to "Higher Place." Surprised at the drum sound and synth. It doesn't really match up to the sound of the rest of the album IMO. I'm curious about all the leftovers and how they may have a different vibe/sound to them collected. Not a bad track but I can see why it was left off.
